Editorial submissions

Request consideration

A hotel or restaurant may place reliable information on the editorial record. Submission is free and does not guarantee coverage, a rating or rank.

There is no application fee and no paid route into the Hotels or Restaurants directories, a GEM, Fork or Anchor distinction or The World’s Best 100.
01

What a submission does

A consideration request alerts the publication to a place or material change and supplies evidence for research. It is not an application that must produce a decision, a reservation of future eligibility or an agreement to publish.

Directory publication, a GEM, Fork or Anchor distinction and annual ranking are separate decisions. A place may be relevant to one and not another.

02

Information to include

  • Official name, address, opening date and principal website.
  • Legal operator, management company and relevant brand relationship.
  • A concise account of the place, its category and the material reason for consideration.
  • Current room, restaurant or operating facts relevant to the category standard.
  • Official contact able to confirm the information.
  • Links to downloadable media with ownership, credit and publication terms.
  • Any hosted access, commercial relationship or other conflict that should be disclosed.
03

What not to submit

  • Purchased testimonials, anonymous endorsements or unsupported superlatives.
  • Material that implies an inspection, rating or rank that has not been published.
  • Confidential personal information that is not necessary for editorial assessment.
  • Photography or documents the sender is not authorised to provide.
  • Payment, gifts or a request for paid priority.
04

After submission

Material is assessed according to editorial relevance, evidence and current publishing priorities. The publication is not able to promise acknowledgement, a review date, a visit, publication or individual feedback.

A commercial discussion, past or present, does not improve the outcome. If the place later becomes eligible for mark licensing or another commercial service, that discussion begins only after the independent result.
