Commercial and hosted relationships
Advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links, mark licensing, training and other commercial services are kept separate from editorial consideration and decision-making. Payment cannot influence directory publication, a GEM, Fork or Anchor distinction, Best 100 eligibility, position or publication timing.
A hosted stay, meal, journey, event invitation or other material support is disclosed when it bears on the work. Acceptance never guarantees coverage and does not transfer editorial control.
Conflicts of interest
A person taking part in a rating or ranking decision must disclose a material personal, financial or professional interest. The publication may restrict access to material, require recusal, assign a separate review or record the conflict in the decision file.
Gifts, preferential terms or hospitality that could reasonably be understood to compromise judgement are declined or managed through disclosure and separation.
Accuracy and attribution
Claims are attributed to an appropriate source where attribution materially helps the reader. Changeable information—including prices, opening hours, services, travel requirements and availability—must be checked again with the relevant provider before a journey.
Hotel, restaurant and cruise records, GEM, Fork and Anchor distinctions, annual rankings and editorial stories are distinct publication forms. Language on one must not be used to imply a conclusion that belongs to another.
