Our approach
Accessibility is treated as part of publishing quality. The website is reviewed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 Level AA as the reference point, without claiming that every page or third-party service already meets every criterion.
Work is prioritised where it affects navigation, reading, forms, images, motion and access to essential policy or record information.
Measures in the publication
- Semantic headings, landmarks and descriptive page titles.
- Keyboard access and a visible route to the main content.
- Text alternatives for editorial images where they convey information.
- Responsive layouts that support enlargement and smaller screens.
- Colour and focus treatments intended to preserve legibility.
- Reduced reliance on motion for essential meaning or navigation.
Known limitations
Some archive material, third-party embeds, older documents or supplied media may not yet offer an equivalent accessible format. Complex rankings and image-led editions may also require further work to provide the same information efficiently through assistive technology.
Where a barrier prevents access to material information, contact the publication with the page address, the format required and a description of the problem. A reasonable alternative will be considered.
